Despite his quadriplegic cerebral palsy, Augie is the brain child behind Wheelchair action art. With the help of his family and friends, Augie has been creating vivid, action-filled wheelchair art since September 2010. Through his art, Augie hopes to raise money to help others with disabilities.
Pictured is Cameron of Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates, with her mentor Patrick Bazins, owner of local restaurants Bazins on Church and Alegria. Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates is located at 9639 Fairfax Boulevard, Fairfax, Virginia and employs several individuals with intellectual disabilities. The store offers weekly and seasonal specials, such as blueberry muffins in the summer and caramel apples in the fall. Cameron’s Coffee and Chocolates is supported by Every1 Can Work, a nonprofit that employs intellectually disabled individuals.
